This is a little story about courage, trust, and the magic that happens when we drop our masks.
Three months ago, I invested a few thousand dollars in someone’s quest. Three weeks ago — perhaps foolishly — I sent the creator some unsolicited feedback on how to make her offering more customer-focused.
This week, she sent an email to all 16 of us that literally made me sit back in my chair:
“Following some wonderful feedback from one of you … I paused to reassess. The paid subscription tier is closing. The quest will now be completely free. Since you’ve already paid, I’ve initiated a full refund.”
My first reaction? Pure shock. She’d not only read my feedback — she’d acted on it. My second reaction? Genuine happiness. This woman had just taken a very brave step toward building her business her way.
What We All Crave (And Why AI Can’t Provide It)
I’ve spent the last five months talking with entrepreneurs about something we’re all feeling but rarely name: we’re drowning in automation and starving for authentic human connection.
We’ve hit our limit with chatbots, AI responses, and generic everything. Suddenly, we no longer want to talk to the machine; we want to speak to a human. However, here’s the catch: we’ve allowed our human interaction skills to become rusty. We’re not sure which mask to drop, which veil to lift, or how to just … be ourselves.
Here’s what I know for certain: No course, education path, or AI program can teach you how to be you. There’s absolutely no one on earth who can tell you how to run the best version of your business or your life.
The Truth About Being Human (That We Keep Forgetting)
Despite all our technological evolution, humans haven’t changed at light speed. We still:
• Focus on ourselves first
• Buy with our emotions, justify with logic
• Crave real conversations
• Get our best ideas from working with other humans
• Need mental stimulation from genuine discussion
• Remain beautifully, individually unique
• Gravitate toward those we trust
The answers for why you’re here, how you process the world, and what you’re meant to deliver? They’re already inside you. They always have been.
Most of us just lost that original knowledge when we got caught up in “the system”—earning more, spending more, while drifting away from respecting more, loving more, and living with meaning.
The good news? Reclaiming that knowledge is easier than ever, thanks to the very technology that initially distracted us from it.
How Trust Is Really Earned
I used to think fancy degrees, impressive titles, and big salaries automatically generated trust. I was completely wrong. Those things are temporary—and frankly, forgettable.
The woman who responded to my feedback? She earned real trust. She was honest and transparent, acknowledged her pivot, stood by her decision, and made things right with every single customer.
Will she become my client one day? Maybe. Maybe not. But she’s definitely someone I’d want to do business with, be friends with, or have in my corner. And honestly? It doesn’t get better than that.
Your Turn
This is a small story about how one person dropped her mask, strengthened her relationships, and paved the way for genuine success.
The question is: Will you do the same?
Because in a world full of automation, the humans who dare to be authentically human will always win. If you are ready to reclaim what makes you uniquely you, I’d love to help you discover it.
